Moth Trap

We made a moth trap to collect moths to look at.

The bucket has a funnel of plastic that the moths fall down, and they go through a largish gap below, but they cant climb out of the bucket. Egg cartons below give the moths somewhere to rest so they dont damage themselves. There are holes in the bottom of the bucket to let any water out.

We set it up beneath an outside light and left it on all night.

We found dozens of insects inside the next day, and not just moths. Here are some:
